TRAVIS DAMON WINS AFTER A HEAD-TO-HEAD BATTLE AT GLEN HELEN

The Rocky Mountain ATV/MC WORCS Series concluded its pre-summer break race at Glen Helen Raceway, California, showcasing intense rivalries, particularly between Travis Damon and Beau Baron in the Pro ATV class. Damon claimed victory, extending his lead. In the Pro-Am class, Daven DeSilva triumphed after Eduardo Rojas faced mechanical issues. Layne Fryar made a remarkable comeback to secure third in the Women’s Pro class, with Torey Matajcich winning and taking the points lead. The event highlighted fierce competition and sportsmanship, promising an exciting second half of the season.

TYLER LYNN POWERS TO VICTORY IN SUNNY SOCAL

The Rocky Mountain ATV/MC WORCS Series made its return to one of off-road racing’s most iconic venues as competitors rolled into Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, California, for the final round before the summer hiatus. With Southern California temperatures sitting comfortably in the low 80s, riders were treated to nearly perfect conditions, setting the stage for a weekend packed with speed, strategy, and plenty of drama. Saturday featured the Open Pro, Vet Pro, and Women Pro divisions, while Sunday belonged to the premier Pro 450 and Pro 250 classes. Combined, the two headline classes spent over two hours on the racecourse, and Glen Helen made sure every minute counted. Adding to the challenge was a dedicated pro section that proved to be both a passing zone and a trap waiting to happen. Riders dropped off a small K-rail into a steep downhill before charging through a rough, dusty section behind the truck track. Multiple line choices near the end of the section allowed racers to attack or defend before launching back over the tires and K-rail to rejoin the main course. It rewarded aggression but punished mistakes, and there were no shortages of crashes throughout the afternoon. Fortunately, most riders remounted quickly and continued their charge, with several maintaining podium positions despite their mishaps.

The Open Pro class saw home-track favorite Dustyn Davis put his Glen Helen experience to good use. Davis steadily built his advantage throughout the seven-lap race, posting the fastest lap of the event with an 8:45.425 and taking the overall victory. Jake Alvarez kept the pressure on early and settled into second, while Colton Aeck rounded out the podium after working his way forward from fourth on the opening lap. In Vet Pro, off-road legend Ivan Ramirez made his first appearance in the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC WORCS Series and immediately reminded everyone why his name carries so much respect. Ramirez controlled the race from the outset and turned the fastest lap with a 9:01.907 en route to victory. Series regular Travis Damon entered the weekend undefeated but had to settle for second after pushing Ramirez throughout the six-lap contest. Nick Stover completed the podium, while Hayden Florez brought home fourth.

The Women Pro division welcomed back Lauren Woods after spending recent weeks competing in the opening rounds of the WMX Championship in Pro Motocross. Woods wasted no time re-establishing herself, grabbing the holeshot and leading every lap on her GASGAS machine. Her pace proved untouchable as she cruised to victory. Maddy Weber held down second throughout the race and posted the fastest lap of the class with a 10:15.445. Brook Whipple completed the podium, with Rachel Burton finishing fourth.

Dustyn Davis carried his momentum from Saturday into Sunday and looked exceptional all afternoon. Racing at his home course, the Honda rider consistently maintained a blistering pace and recorded the fastest lap in class with an 8:55.029. Davis never relinquished the lead and secured another overall victory. Behind him, the battle for the remaining podium spots stayed close for much of the race. Cole Zeller briefly found himself near the front before disaster struck early. Entering the end of the pro section, Zeller clipped a K-rail and suffered a violent crash that sent him hard to the ground. Forced to regroup, the KTM rider put his head down and launched an impressive recovery ride to salvage second place. RPM Racing teammates Noah Gordon and Colton Aeck waged a race-long battle for the final podium position. Gordon’s consistency ultimately paid off as he edged Aeck by just over a minute at the checkered flag. Sam Pretscherer finished fifth after a steady ride, while Harlem Nelson completed the top six. Kayden Lynn was unable to continue after an early DNF

The Pro 450 class featured a thrilling duel between Mason Semmens and Tyler Lynn. Semmens grabbed the early advantage and spent the opening laps holding off both Lynn and Dare Demartile. But midway through the race, Lynn came alive. On lap four, Lynn laid down an incredible 8:46.156—the fastest lap of the entire day—and used that same lap to make the decisive pass for the lead. From there, the Honda rider managed the race brilliantly, though Semmens refused to go away. The pair stayed within striking distance of one another all the way to the finish, with only seven seconds separating them after more than two hours of racing. Semmens settled for second but showcased championship-winning speed throughout the day. Dare Demartile had the pace to challenge the front runners, but mistakes proved costly. The Lincoln, California rider tipped over three separate times around the course, including incidents within the technical pro section. Despite the setbacks, Demartile remounted each time and fought back to secure third place, preserving a podium finish.

Jake Alvarez brought his Kawasaki home in fourth after a consistent ride, while Hayden Florez rounded out the top five. As the checkered flag waved over Glen Helen Raceway, the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC WORCS Series closed the first half of the season in fitting fashion. One of the sport’s most storied venues once again delivered close racing, dramatic moments, and plenty of memorable performances. Now, with the summer break ahead, riders and teams will have time to regroup before returning to battle for championships in the second half of the season.

FAMILY VICTORY AS BARON’S TAKE HOME WINS IN BOTH CLASSES

The Rocky Mountain ATV/MC WORCS Series brought the intensity to the Pacific Northwest as Washougal MX Park played host to a huge weekend of ATV racing, adding even more action to an already electric round at one of the most iconic venues in motorsports. With the track offering a unique blend of motocross-style speed and technical off-road terrain, it created the perfect recipe for dramatic battles, costly mistakes, and big momentum shifts as the season continued to take shape.

Saturday evening saw the Women’s Pro class line up for the final race of the day, and the stage was set for a showdown between the season’s front runners. Right from the start, chaos struck early as a mishap in the opening moments shuffled the order and sent top contenders Torey Matajcich and Layne Fryar deep in the pack. With both riders forced to fight their way forward after getting pushed back, it opened the door for Bailey Baron to take advantage of clean air and establish control at the front. Baron looked calm and calculated as she clicked off consistent laps, keeping her pace steady and her lines clean while the rest of the field scrambled behind her. As the race settled in, Baron continued to build confidence and stretch her lead, putting together what would become her most complete ride of the season. After being in the mix throughout the year but still searching for that breakthrough result, Washougal became the turning point. She maintained her composure and rode with patience through the rougher sections, never giving the others an opening to capitalize. When the checkered flag flew, it was Bailey Baron claiming her first win of the season, a major moment in her career, as the championship points are all so close, with the top three less than 10 points apart. Behind her, Dakota Hibler delivered one of the standout rides of the day. Hibler, who has shown flashes of speed all season, put it all together at Washougal with her best finish of the year, charging into second place and holding strong to secure a well-earned podium result. With consistent laps and smart decision-making through traffic, she proved she has the pace to run with the very best. Despite the early setback, Torey Matajcich kept her position and championship lead over Layne Fryar at the halfway point of the season, heading into Glen Helen and the Summer Break.

Sunday brought the premier ATV action, as the Pro ATV class lined up for a grueling 90-minute battle that featured one of the most stacked fields of the entire season. With Washougal being the furthest round of the year for many of the regular WORCS racers, the Pacific Northwest crowd showed up in force, and several riders from the PNW Quadcross scene joined the lineup to take on the series regulars. The result was a deep and talented field that brought relentless pressure from the opening lap until the final minutes.

When the gate dropped, it was Beau Baron launching off the line with a perfect start to grab the holeshot, immediately putting himself in position to control the race. His quick reaction time earned him more than just track position, as the holeshot also came with a $500 bonus courtesy of TireBlocks. Baron wasted no time putting that advantage to use, settling into a strong pace and establishing himself as the early leader as the pack charged into the woods. Not far behind, Travis Damon made it clear he came to win. Damon kept the pressure on from the opening laps and began searching for an opportunity to strike. As the race moved deeper into the technical sections, Damon found his moment and executed a pass in the woods to take over the lead, showing both aggression and confidence as he charged forward. For a stretch of the race, it looked like Damon had everything under control, riding strong and building momentum while Baron stayed within striking distance, waiting for any mistake or opening.

However, heartbreak would strike once again for Damon in one of the cruelest ways possible. With only a few laps remaining and victory in sight, disaster hit as he suffered another tire issue, forcing him into the pits for an emergency tire change. In a race where every second mattered, the unexpected stop cost Damon the lead and allowed Baron to reclaim the top position. Beau didn’t hesitate, jumping back into the lead and immediately focusing on maintaining his pace to the finish. The swing in fortunes was massive, and the momentum shift could be felt across the course as Baron capitalized on Damon’s misfortune and pushed forward to secure the win. Baron’s victory couldn’t have come at a better time, as the season now officially reached its halfway point. With the championship picture tightening, every win and every point becomes increasingly critical, and Washougal proved to be a major turning point for the Pro ATV title fight. Damon, despite showing the speed and strength to win, was left once again wondering what could have been, while Baron walked away with maximum points and the kind of confidence boost that can carry through the second half of the season.

The Pro-Am ATV race also delivered its own fireworks, with Daven Desilva putting on a statement ride that left no doubt about his speed. Desilva was absolutely on fire through the trees, charging hard and riding with precision as he quickly separated himself from the competition. After a season that started with Eduardo Rojas building an early streak of strong finishes and consistent results, Washougal was the round where that momentum finally got interrupted. Desilva rode with intensity from start to finish, controlling the race and earning his first win of the season in dominating fashion. Rojas fought hard to respond but had no answer for Desilva’s pace, settling for second as the two continued to build their rivalry into the second half of the season. Torey Matajcich added another strong weekend by putting in a solid performance in Pro-Am as well, grabbing third place and continuing to prove he can run up front in multiple classes.
