BARON GRABS HIS FIRST WIN AS ROJAS CONTINUES PERFECT SEASON
ATVs took over Stead MX for the WORCS Race presented by Rocky Mountain ATV/MC, putting on a gritty and action-packed weekend of racing as riders battled through one of the most demanding tracks on the schedule. Stead is always a fan-favorite stop on the calendar, and it didn’t disappoint once again as the track delivered a perfect mix of high-speed straights, tight corners, and rough technical sections that forced every rider to dig deep. As the weekend went on, the course continued to break down into deep ruts, harsh braking bumps, and endless chop, making each lap more difficult than the last.

Saturday opened the ATV action with the Women’s Pro race, where the riders lined up for a 50-minute showdown. From the moment the green flag dropped, the pace was intense, with the top competitors immediately pushing the limits to gain track position early. With a shorter race format, there was no time to settle in, and every lap felt like a sprint. Riders attacked the course aggressively, but with Stead MX already beginning to form deep lines and square-edged bumps, staying smooth and mistake-free became just as important as raw speed. As the race wore on, the pressure remained high, and the Women’s Pro class once again showed why it continues to grow as one of the most exciting divisions in WORCS.

Sunday shifted the spotlight to the premier ATV categories, as both the Pro and Pro-Am classes faced the ultimate test with full 90-minute races. The longer format added a whole new layer of strategy, as riders had to balance pushing the pace with conserving energy. It wasn’t just about who was the fastest in the opening laps, but who could maintain speed and composure when the track reached its roughest condition. The Pro race delivered exactly what fans were hoping for, with a hard-charging battle at the front and constant pressure from the opening lap all the way to the finish.
Early on, the leaders wasted no time establishing a blistering pace, with riders trading lines and searching for any advantage they could find. Stead MX offered very few easy sections, and with the course rapidly deteriorating, every corner became a challenge. The rough straights punished suspension setups, while the tight technical turns forced riders to stay sharp and avoid getting caught in the deep ruts. Travis Damon was one of the standout riders of the day and looked like he had all the speed needed to take the win. Damon was on the move and riding with confidence, charging hard through the rough sections and keeping the pressure on at the front. Lap after lap, he continued to show that he was in control of the race and had the pace to bring home a major victory. His lines were aggressive, his speed was consistent, and it looked like the race was shaping up perfectly in his favor.

However, with the Pro class battling for 90 minutes, Stead MX has a way of punishing even the smallest mistakes. Towards the end of the race, Damon suffered a costly break when a small error caused him to leave the race track. In the process, he picked up a flat tire, immediately changing the momentum of the entire race. With no choice but to pull off the course and replace the tire, Damon lost valuable time in the closing stages when every second mattered. That moment opened the door for Beau Baron, who stayed patient and capitalized exactly when the opportunity presented itself. Baron had been in the mix and remained steady through the chaos, keeping himself in position as the race unfolded. When Damon was forced off the track, Baron took full advantage, making his move and regaining the lead. In a race where endurance, consistency, and smart decision-making can be the difference between first and second, Baron’s ability to stay composed and take control at the right time proved to be the winning formula.Behind the leaders, the Pro field continued to battle through the brutal conditions, with riders fighting for every position as the track reached its worst state of the weekend. Deep ruts formed in nearly every corner, and the chopped-out straights forced riders to manage fatigue while still keeping their machines under control. It was the kind of race that demanded everything from both rider and equipment, and simply finishing strong was an accomplishment in itself.

The Pro-Am race followed with the same level of intensity, with competitors taking on their own 90-minute war of attrition. By that point in the day, the course had been hammered by multiple races, leaving the Pro-Am riders with some of the roughest conditions Stead had to offer. The longer race format meant pacing and smart line selection became critical, as riders who pushed too hard early often found themselves fading late. Those who were able to ride smooth, stay consistent, and avoid costly mistakes were rewarded as the race developed. Pro-Am racers fought through traffic, navigated broken-down sections, and battled for position from start to finish, delivering another exciting race for the fans lining the course. When the dust finally settled, the Stead MX round once again proved why WORCS remains one of the toughest off-road racing series in the country. Between the Women’s Pro 50-minute battle on Saturday and the grueling 90-minute showdowns in Pro and Pro-Am on Sunday, the ATV racers delivered a weekend filled with speed, endurance, and dramatic moments. With riders pushing themselves to the limit and the track demanding perfection, Stead MX provided yet another unforgettable chapter in the WORCS season.
