BEAU BARON DOMINATES THE BATTLE IN THE CORN IN IDAHO

After a mid-summer break, WORCS Racing returned in full force for Round 6 of the 2025 championship at Cache Valley MX in Preston, Idaho. The series brought riders back to a challenging 5.5-mile course that featured nearly four miles of high-speed racing through the cornfields.

The unique layout tested riders’ endurance and skill, blending fast, open sections with technical obstacles that kept the racing tight all weekend. With points on the line and championships inching closer, the ATV racers delivered another memorable round of battles. In the Pro ATV Class, fans were once again treated to the back-and-forth rivalry between Beau Baron and Travis Damon that has been building all season. When the gate dropped, it was Baron who reacted first, grabbing the holeshot and securing clear air as he led the charge into the cornfield.

Damon quickly settled into second, closing the gap as the opening laps unfolded. Behind them, Logan Huffe kept the pressure on, waiting for an opportunity to strike. he course’s long straights allowed Damon to reel Baron in, and for a brief moment, it looked like the two veterans would once again square off for another showdown. Unfortunately, Damon’s day came to an abrupt end when a steering failure struck just after the big double in the back section of the track. Forced to pull off, his mechanical heartbreak handed Baron some breathing room and opened the door for others to capitalize. With Damon out, Huffe pushed forward into second and kept Baron honest for much of the race. While Baron managed the pace out front, Huffe rode strong and consistent, locking in a well-earned runner-up finish. Meanwhile, Justin Semas worked his way steadily through the pack to take advantage of Damon’s misfortune, climbing into the third and final spot on the podium. The result was another reminder of Baron’s ability to rise to the occasion, even as Damon continues to be his season-long rival.

The Pro-Am Class saw a statement ride from Gage Leaver, who dominated the weekend from start to finish. On both Saturday and Sunday, Leaver set the tone early, grabbing the lead and never looking back. His pace through the corn sections and rhythm over the jumps separated him from the rest of the field, giving him two convincing wins that further solidify his position as one of the riders to watch. Behind him, Daven DeSilva had to dig deep after encountering issues that forced him onto his practice bike. Despite the setback, DeSilva showed grit and determination.

A poor start placed him at the back of the field, but he clawed his way through traffic, picking off riders one by one. In the late laps, he battled past Joseph Semas and began closing in on Eduardo Rojas. Rojas had established himself early in second, but DeSilva’s late charge brought him right onto the rear grab bar before the checkered flag waved. Rojas held strong for second, while DeSilva settled for third in what was one of the most hard-fought rides of the weekend.

On Saturday afternoon, the Women’s Pro Class lined up under warm, muggy conditions, adding an extra layer of difficulty to the race. As the gate dropped, it was Layne Fryar who wasted no time charging to the front. Fryar made quick passes early, moving past both Dakota Hibler and Bailey Baron to establish the lead. From there, she never looked back, extending her advantage and showcasing the same dominance that has defined her season so far. All eyes will be on Fryar heading into Glen Helen, as reigning undefeated champion Torey Matajcich makes her return from injury. That matchup is shaping up to be one of the highlights of the season, with Fryar proving she has the speed to challenge the champ. Behind Fryar, Dakota Hibler rode one of her best races of the year, putting together a strong and steady performance to finish second. The result ties her season-best and serves as a confidence boost heading into the final rounds. Rounding out the podium was Bailey Baron, who battled hard with Donna Espensen midway through the race before finally securing third. Espensen still put in a solid showing, but Baron’s persistence paid off as she locked in another top-three finish.

With only a few rounds left on the schedule, the championship picture across the ATV classes is starting to take shape. Baron’s win in Pro adds to his consistency, but Damon’s speed all season means their rivalry is far from over. In Pro-Am, Leaver has proven to be the rider to beat, while DeSilva continues to show resilience through adversity. And in the Women’s Pro class, the upcoming battle between Fryar and Matajcich has fans eagerly awaiting the next gate drop. As the dust settled at Cache Valley MX, one thing was clear: the ATV classes brought intensity, drama, and heart all weekend long. The series now heads back to Southern California for Round 7 at the legendary Glen Helen Raceway, September 12–14, where the battles will only grow as the championship chase tightens.
