MAX LINDQUIST BOUNCES BACK AND TAKES THE ISLAND INVASION GP
The ATV racing action continued this past weekend with a stacked lineup of Pro classes hitting the course, as the Women’s Pro race ran on Saturday, while the Pro-Am and Pro classes wrapped up the weekend on Sunday. With deep fields and a course that continued to break down throughout the event, consistency and endurance once again proved to be the deciding factors across all three premier ATV classes.

Saturday’s Womens Pro race saw Layne Fryar put together another dominant performance. Fryar quickly established control of the race and never relinquished it, turning consistent laps throughout the eight-lap contest to secure the overall win. Her fastest lap of the race came early with a 6:25.051 on lap two, setting the tone for the remainder of the race as she steadily stretched her lead and controlled the pace from the front. Finishing second was Torey Matajcich, who stayed within striking distance in the early portion of the race but ultimately couldn’t match Fryar’s pace as the laps wore on.
Matajcich remained solid throughout the race, maintaining second place across the duration of the event and finishing comfortably ahead of the rest of the field. The battle for third place saw Dakota Hibler work forward as the race progressed. After starting just outside the podium positions, Hibler was able to settle into third and maintain the spot through the later stages of the race. Bailey Baron finished fourth after running near the front early but gradually dropping back as the race continued. Heidi Colman unfortunately recorded a DNF after completing only a portion of the race distance.

Sunday’s racing featured both the Pro-Am and Pro classes, where the competition stepped up and the pace intensified as riders battled through longer race distances and increasingly rough track conditions. In the Pro-Am class, Eduardo Rojas delivered another impressive ride to take the overall victory. Rojas moved into the lead early in the race and maintained control through the remainder of the event, consistently clicking off laps in the mid six-minute range while keeping a comfortable gap over the rest of the field. The win marked Rojas’ third straight victory to start the season, keeping his record a perfect three-for-three and further solidifying his early championship momentum.

Torey Matajcich returned to the track for a second time over the weekend and once again landed on the podium, this time finishing second in the Pro-Am division. Matajcich remained steady throughout the race, gradually working forward and securing the runner-up position as the laps ticked down. Third place went to Bobby Troy, who put together a consistent ride and avoided mistakes as the race unfolded. Troy held strong pace through the middle portion of the race and ultimately secured the final podium position. Behind them, Mason Del Gatto finished fourth after enduring a challenging race as the track conditions worsened throughout the event. James Saunders rounded out the top five with a steady ride, while Lucas Brandise completed the race in sixth position. Daven Desilva and Landen Johnson were both unable to finish the race.

The weekend concluded with the Pro ATV class, where Max Lindquist showcased an impressive ride to take the overall victory. After starting near the front, Lindquist steadily moved into the lead and maintained control for the majority of the race. His fastest lap of the race, a 5:52.828, highlighted the pace he was able to sustain while navigating the increasingly demanding course conditions. Finishing second was Travis Damon, who led the opening lap before eventually giving way to Lindquist as the race progressed. Damon stayed within reach early on but ultimately settled into a solid second-place finish after maintaining consistent lap times throughout the race.

Beau Baron secured the third position, running inside the podium spots for the entire race. Baron’s steady performance allowed him to hold off pressure from behind and maintain his position as the race wore on. Just off the podium was Logan Huff, who finished fourth after running consistently in that position from the early stages of the race. Gage Leaver rounded out the top five, while Layne Fryar, who had already claimed the Women’s Pro win the previous day, returned to the track to finish sixth in the highly competitive Pro class. Auston Baxter unfortunately, recorded a DNF after completing several laps earlier in the race. Across the weekend, the Pro ATV divisions once again showcased the depth of talent in the field, with strong performances, consistent lap times, and strategic race management proving to be the key ingredients for success as the season continues to build momentum.
