BEAU BARON WINS BIG IN LAS VEGAS UNDER THE LIGHTS

Round 5 of the Rocky Mountain WORCS ATV/MC series was quite the break from the average racing that the ATV riders are used to. Instead of the standard 90-minute endurance race, they would switch it out for a 45-minute “enduro cross” Style racing. Beau Baron would prove why he is the most winning rider in WORCS history as he claims victory under the lights in sin city. Braxton Grosse would take home the win in Pro-am as Layne Fryar lands on the top of the box for the first time in Women’s Pro.
The Last race of the stacked lineup of racing on Saturday was none other than the Pro and Pro-Am battle. This track was laid out with half the course being outside, where they would race over a few different types of terrain with Logs, asphalt, and some off-road sections before entering the arena, where they would be set up with an arena cross-like area to shift things up. Jacob Stevens would begin the race with the holeshot, which was crucial around a highly narrow course and difficult to make passes stick, but starting in second place behind Stevens, who would get around him during the 5th lap of the race.
Alex Ortiz would battle with Stevens for a few laps trying to get around him into the second spot but, unfortunately, would break a chain and half to pull off the course to get it fixed, making him fall back to 6th where he would finish the race. Once Stevens had the gap from his competitors behind him, He would hit his marks lap after lap to bring home his 1st Pro Podium in his short Pro Career after finishing in second. Aboard his Low Profile Motorsports machine, Travis Damon would make some moves through the pack after a rough start, ending the first lap back in 6th place. He would find his way around the other riders behind Stevens in 3rd place by the tenth lap of the race and would finish there after racing the Pro MC race just minutes prior.
Pro-Am had some new guys on the podium, with both second and third being fresh faces after the action concluded. Braxton Grosse would continue his perfect season with another win in the highly competitive class. After the green flag dropped, Grosse would find himself in third place but would not be there for long, finding his way around the competitors to get into that top spot and not looking back, putting down some consistently fast laps and putting a gap finishing over a minute and a half in front of Uriah Tsinnijinnie.
This was Tsinnijinnie’s first time racing in the Pro-Am class as he has been racing in Open A this year. He ran a very impressive first race after pulling the holeshot, and although Grosse did pass him, no one else could find their way by him. In third place, Travis Tarno would round out the podium as he sits in 2nd place in points with consistent 5th and 4th place finishes through the first four rounds. He would get his first podium in the Orleans arena, making him twelve points ahead of Torey Matajcich.
Women’s Pro would race earlier in the day, and it would showcase Layne Fryar being able to successfully win her first race of the season, beating out Torey Matajcich and Donna Espensen.
