February 14th, 2022 Devore, CA – It was a hotter than usual weekend in early February, with temperatures hovering around the mid 80’s on both days of racing this weekend for the next installment of the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC WORCS Series. As we head south from Primm, Nevada to the legendary Glen Helen Raceway where Dane and the rest of the crew put together a fantastic track that set us up for an incredible slate of racing.Β

On Saturday, Brayden Baker put on quite the show in SXS Pro Stock in his Polaris RS1. He came off the line, grabbed the holeshot, didn’t look back, checked out from his competitors, and took home the win and the points lead in the class. β€œThis track gets super deep and rutted, so keeping it on all fours was big, and knowing where to conserve the car in spots was crucial.” Said Baker.

We had some fresh faces rounding out the podium, with Chase Desousadias and Trey Eggleston finishing in 2nd and 3rd in just their second race in this class. Chase, who at one point was sitting in first on corrected time after starting in the second row, put together a clean race on a deep rough track to give him his first podium. β€œMy GoPro ended up being knocked off, and I had to get it back onto the mount, but beyond that, we had a really great race.” Said Desousadias. Lastly, Eggleston tried hard to mount a comeback, but on the last lap, he lost power steering and backed it off to the finish to grab third place.

A weekend of intense racing and battles plus a 90-minute ATV Pro race dug this course, allowing the premier class to show what they do best and battle it out till the last minute. In his rookie campaign in the SXS Pro Production class, Taylor Cox is showing that he is here to stay after a third place finish in Primm. He takes the top spot at Glen Helen Raceway after driving thru the pack. β€œSuper happy to be here, coming out of the production turbo class, so this is definitely something new, but I’m stoked.” Says Cox.

Shawn Saxton came in 2nd place after overcoming a few different obstacles during this race. While charging ahead to try and battle with Cox, he suffered a left rear flat tire, which set him back a bit in time. While dealing with that, he was also without 4WD β€œ We are dealing with a slight magnet issue which is causing us to lose our 4WD, but we will figure it out and be back.” Said Saxton. He put on cruise control and wanted to keep himself on the podium and will be back to battle for that top spot in Lake Havasu for the next round.

Our winner of the 1st round Beau Judge leaves this weekend still tied for the lead in points with Taylor Cox while finishing 3rd after dealing with a few bumps along the way. β€œIt’s hard to give up a win at my favorite place, but I have a few more tracks that I am really excited for, so we will be back strong at those when the time comes.” Said, Judge. This year will only get more and more exciting as the title battle begins leading into the next round.
