January 19th, 2022 Primm, NV racing is here baby! And the first round of the Rocky Mountain ATV MC WORCS Series was full of action! Different weather conditions lead to some great racing all weekend with Saturday being quite cloudy, cold, and windy. But on Sunday the clouds cleared out and the wind died down, leaving us with quite a nice day but with some very harsh glare to battle against for the SXS Pro Stock class.

Beau Judge pulled the holeshot in his Can-am Maverick X3 and was battling with 2nd place Jeremiah Wagner who was pushing hard till he broke towards the end of the race. Judge stayed calm and collective as he hit his lines and ran a great pace to take home the top spot hoping to repeat his championship efforts of 2021.

Running in 3rd battling hard behind Beau and Jeremiah was the #102 of Cayden MacCachren, MacCachren was playing smart and not wanting to push the car too hard since he was also going to be racing the Pro Stock class the next day. Navigating this rough beat in course after a full day of racing in his Polaris and moving up to 2nd towards the end of the race. MacCachren was able to put it on the box.

The only racer to get on from podium starting from the second line was Taylor Cox! “I wasn’t expecting much being my first pro production race so I was just going to jump in there, see what I can do then try to figure out what I need to do for the next races. To my advantage a couple guys from the 2nd line broke giving me a wide open track to just do my thing so I was able to just push my car without any kind of stress from the other cars.” Said Cox.

MacCachren took home the overall in the SXS Pro Stock class which wrapped up our slate of weekend races in Primm. The timing of the race made it to where the sun played a huge factor for all the competitors. Some of the racers said some of the glare coming from their nets or off the gauge cluster really made it difficult in some of the sections.

MacCachren pulled the holeshot and from there put a very fast pace for the first two to three laps when he noticed he pulled a large gap from the other racers. This allowed him to conserve the car by putting about 70-75% throttle down till he saw that Brayden Baker and Casey Sims were making up the time behind him. “We are going to go all year and try to keep this #1 on the track and on top of the box” said MacCachren.

Baker was battling with MacCachren from the start as they went over the first jump right next to each other as Baker settled into second place and was maneuvering his Polaris quickly staying right where he needed to be to guide his car to the podium.

Sims in his Polaris RS1 did the same, keeping his car in the right positions with some very deep ruts built into the corners and battling hard sunlight beaming into his car. Precision placement was huge.

Congrats to all the racers this weekend and we will see you in Glen Helen Raceway for ATV/SXS Round 2 on the weekend of Feb. 11-13.
