FEBRUARY 23, 2021 – PEORIA, AZ – Round 2 of the Rocky Mountain ATV WORCS series was held this past weekend at Canyon MX park in Peoria, AZ due to the venue being moved from Shorty’s Sportspark in Blythe, CA in part to Covid restrictions. This track is somewhat close to home for DirtHalo Racing and team rider Dakota felt right at home.

Saturday saw Dakota line up in the Women C class against 6 other ladies and with Dakota holding on the points lead after round one, everyone was watching to see if the lead would hold. Dakota got a great start and heading into the lower desert part of the track she was running in second right behind the #548 of Bailey Baron. As the ladies came out of the desert and onto the main track Dakota was on the rear tires and was able to make a pass early on the track and from there put on a display for the remainder of the day finishing 2:38 seconds ahead of 2nd place. Dakota was feeling great with the XTravel Suspension set up after making some minor shock adjustments over the past few weeks of practicing.

Sunday saw Dakota line up against another crowded field of 11 other racers in the Production C class. Dakota got a bad start and headed into the desert second to last. After a few laps of running in 8th position, Dakota was able to make some good passes and put herself into 4th position. As she was chasing the third place racer, she experienced some issues with the throttle grip sliding off causing hesitation to make any more passes or ground on the leaders. In the end Dakota was able to finish in 4th position. We look forward to round 3 back in Lake Havasu, AZ in mid March.
