Jacob Peter Races Double Header in Lake Havasu – Rounds 3 & 4 Amateur Race Report

March 18, 2020 – Lake Havasu City, AZ – Absolute Motorsports’ Jacob Peter moved up to the full course youth classes during the WORCS racing weekend in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Peter competed in the double header event in Prod 250 ATV, The big step up for Peter was into the SXS 1000 Stock class driving a Polaris RS1.

Lake Havasu is always a survival race due to the technical and rough nature of the track. One of the highlights of the circuit is the famous lagoon jump, a big air single over part of the lake. Peter enjoyed his time in the new RS1 and especially enjoyed the big air.

β€œI’m glad to step up to the bigger classes,” said Peter. β€œI enjoy the big air and the jumps. The RS1 is an excellent car. It’s skinnier, and it’s significantly more nimble than other SXS’s. Walker Evans gave me a great suspension and the GBC tires were perfect on the tough terrain.”

In previous years, Peter ran the shorter course created for the youth classes. This season is his first real experience with the full course. He wasn’t intimidated and he drove and rode four excellent races.

β€œThe course is rough, and the lagoon jump is very difficult to hit correctly,” said Peter. β€œI hit a few times in the RS1 until it got too rough and I went around it. The ruts were huge, and the bumps just sent the car. This is my first year racing the full course in all of the classes and it is fun.”

Peter will be back in action when the WORCS series holds its next race April 10-12 at Shorty’s Sports Park in Blyth, CA.
