Peoria, AZ – The 2013 Rocky Mountain ATV MX WORCS SxS series Presented by Motoworks and Dirtwheels kicked off in a wet fashion at Canyon MX in Peoria, Arizona, and Polaris / Holz Racing’s Beau Baron dominated the new Pro SxS Production class with the win.   Dragon Fire’s Ken Benson and Black Rhino’s Greg Row rounded out the Pro SxS Production podium.

For 2013, WORCS Series added the SxS Pro Production Class with payouts to the top five finishers. The first place finisher in the class earns $800, second place claims $500, third takes $400 and paychecks are written all the way to fifth position.

Despite the wet forecast, the new SxS Pro Production class attracted 23 racers for the WORCS season opener, and the brutal track conditions would take its toll on man and machine with the area receiving over an inch of rain leading up to the race.

After some reconfiguring of the track due to all of the standing water, mud and mess, the SxS Pro Production drivers started on time at 2:45PM . Holz Racing / H&M Motorsports’ Beau Baron grabbed the holeshot with his Sparks powered Polaris RZR XP 900 and never looked back as he lead from start to finish to secure the win with five minutes to spare over second place.

“Everything worked really well. I got a great start and led from the first lap to the checkers. I pulled over for some goggles and stuff but all in all it went really good. I actually enjoyed it even though it was so nasty, “regarded Baron on his win.

Dragon Fire Racing’s Ken Benson finished in the second spot with his Polaris RZR XP 900. He was the only driver besides Baron to complete six laps. This is Benson’s first year with Dragon Fire Racing and although he was pleased with the way the Polaris RZR preformed, he was unavailable for comment as he was taken to the ER after the race.

“Ken ran out of tear offs and got roosted pretty good in the face. He had to go get his eyes flushed out at the ER. They weren’t able to do it at the trailer, and we wanted to be safe,” said a Dragon Fire representative.

The number seven of Greg Row claimed the final podium spot in the SxS Pro Production class aboard his Fusion Black Rhino prepped Polaris RZR XP 900. Row ended last season with a couple of podium finishes, and he kicked off 2013 back on the podium.

The SxS Production 1000 class featured nine racers and Mitch Guthrie Jr. took the win with his Polaris RZR followed by Robert Mowrer and Michael Gonzales.

In the SxS Production 850 race, #654 Chris Willing was able to edge out #918 Justin Lambert for the Holeshot, and Willing would go on to lead from start to finish to secure the win followed by his teammate, #456 Alfredo Ramirez in second place. #133 Adam Levings rounded out the podium.

#50 Michael Bunyea took the win the SxS Production 700 class aboard his Maxxis / Holz Racing backed Polaris RZR 570. “I had the last gate pick, but I drove smart and steered clear of the puddles. I just drove smart and finished off with the win,” regarded Bunyea of his first place.

Another new class for 2013 is the SxS Production 600 class, which was made specifically for the new RZR 570, but amazingly, the majority of the RZR 570 racers continued to sign up for the Production 700 class, which left #525 Amelia Morton racing alone in the new class for the easy win.

Round 2 of the Rocky Mountain ATV MC WORCS Series is just two weeks away at Buffalo Bills Casino in Primm, Nevada on February, 8-10^th.
