WORCS Round 4 SxS Race Report

Surprise, AZ – Round 4 of the WORCS Racing series was held at Speed World MX, and for the second time this year, the SxS Production 1000 class had over 30 entries. They were split up over three rows with the series points leaders on the first row, and it was none other than WORCS track master, #15 Ryan Piplic, grabbing the Holeshot on row one.

Walker Evans Shock’s RJ Anderson would take over the lead before the end of lap one, and he held the lead to the checkered flag for his 2nd straight win of the season, which extends his points lead to 12 points over #15 Ryan Piplic.

Maxxis’ #15 Ryan Piplic finished just 2 seconds behind RJ Anderson for his third podium finish this year, which has Piplic within striking distance of the points lead in his Polaris RZR XP 900.

Turn Key UTV’s #549 Beau Baron earned his second straight podium finish with a 3rd place finish at Speed World MX, which has Baron sitting just 2 points behind Piplic in the points chase as only 14 points separate the top three racers in the SxS Production 1000 class.

In the SxS Production 850 class ,it was #680 Nic Granlund claiming his first win of the season followed by Kawasaki’s #71 Garrett George and class leader, #12 David Lytle.

16 year old, Polaris racer, #816 Code Rahders secured the SxS Production 700 class win in his Polaris RZR 570 SxS followed by #311 Michael Hinkley and #351 Michael Gonzales.

There was a bonus race for the few who dared to race under the lights at Speed World MX, and after a timed qualifier, the SxS racers were lined up from slowest to fastest with the fastest in the back of the pack to make for very interesting race. Kawasaki’s #663 Robert Vanbeekum would claim the win after coming from near the back of the pack to secure the win over #15 Ryan Piplic.

Round 5 of the 2012 WORCS SxS Racing series is set for May 12th at Racetown 395 in Adelanto, California.
